As I read this book I went from loving it to hating it. It was very much different than I expected. Beautiful and haunting and different. It had some incredible quotes in it's pages. I got emotional whip lash from this book. One second laughing and the next feeling gloomy. It's a good short read. Be warned it does have 3 f words. I feel a little cheated since I read it on my Nook and it did not display the pictures with the words. Over all I'm glad I read it.

I really did not like this book. I wouldn’t call almost of it’s content poetry. It’s mostly prose & photography interlaced.

Iain Thomas's I Wrote This For You is a captivating journey through the human experience, told through evocative poetry and haunting photography. This collection invites readers to delve into the depths of emotion, exploring themes of love, loss, longing, and self-discovery.

One of the standout features of this book is its raw honesty and vulnerability. Thomas's poetry captures the essence of human connection with striking clarity, resonating deeply with readers who have experienced the joys and pains of life and love. Each poem is a glimpse into the soul, inviting reflection and introspection.

The accompanying photography adds another layer of depth to the collection, enhancing the emotional impact of the poetry. The images, paired perfectly with the words, create a visual symphony that transports readers to different landscapes of the heart and mind.

What makes the book truly special is its universality. Thomas's words have a timeless quality that transcends individual experiences, speaking to the shared human condition. Whether celebrating the beauty of fleeting moments or grappling with the complexities of existence, the poems resonate on a deeply personal level.

However, the open-ended nature of the poetry may not appeal to all readers. Some may find themselves longing for more concrete narratives or resolutions within the poems. Additionally, the nonlinear structure of the collection may require readers to approach it with an open mind and willingness to embrace ambiguity.

In conclusion, the book is a mesmerizing exploration of the human soul, offering solace, inspiration, and a sense of connection to those who wander its pages. Iain Thomas's poetic voice is both haunting and hopeful, reminding us of the beauty and fragility of life. For anyone seeking a profound and introspective read, this collection is sure to leave a lasting impression.

I'm not going to lie. I'm one of those people that reads poetry when I'm feeling depressed. As you can imagine, it does not help whatsoever, but it makes me feel understood and really grounds me in all of my wallowing feelings. I'm very melodramatic, I know. I read this book because I was feeling some type of way and needed to read little blurbs that would make me feel acknowledged and not crazy for feeling the way I did.

Now that I'm out of that little depressive episode and am looking at the poetry, I think it's simply okay. I had given it 4 stars but changed it to 2 because after I was out of that mood I just didn't feel connected to it. Someone accurately described it as "tumblr poetry" and that's exactly what it is.

I've wanted to read versions of this poetry for years. I'm not sure what held me back but reading this special edition was meant to be for me. I found this version in target last weekend and I've been picked up this book every second i had a few minutes to get lost in the authors words. I've always been a poetry loved as I have a love for words myself but the feels this book gave me were unreal. I am so in love with it. I can't wait for more.

This book will forever be my favorite modern poetry book of all times. I love the concept of everything Iain S. Thomas makes. The author and photographer not knowing each other fascinated me from the start.

I feel this book encapsulates so many emotions. The words he puts together just seem right, and the way he portrays so many aspects of relationships is just *chef’s kiss.*

I love it. Take my 5 stars.

This was absolutely not like anything i had expected.
I literally read this in 4 hours and only because i had to have lunch on that period but those wore 4 of the most amazing hours of my life.
This is not a poetry book and I don't consider myself at all a fan of poetry but the way the little texts where written, like they had some sort of rythym is stunning.
The only thing that could have been improved is the connection to the images, they were all really well taken and so but half of them didn't had anything to do with the following text.
Still, an amazing read, with a type of write similiar to "Dictionary of Love" by David Levithan.
