Just ok. I found myself skimming through chunks of it.
slow-paced

Slow, obvious, needlessly paranoid, and kinda irritating to read.
The author doesn't seem to understand children well. She repeatedly mentions fibromyalgia in a way that makes it seem the author really wants people to know how debilitating it is. She makes it seem personal.
Also the main character decides she hates a goth, because the girl is weird, and refers to her taste in music as "offensive".. which I find annoying.

And the author includes an account of a police officer mansplaining that
"Women aren't always the victim, they can be the perpetrator as well. Though men are often stigmatized as wife-beaters, it works both ways. In fact, new studies suggest that women initiate more than half the violence in volatile relationships, and jealousy is the cause of most homicides in the United States."
So not only is that refuting claims that most domestic violence is perpetrated by men, (despite the stats that most domestic abuse murders of spouses, of any gender, are by men), but implying that it's because women are unfaithful to their partners, and kinda.. bring it on themselves or something?

So yeah I only finished reading this out of spite.

Well told until the last few chapters, by that point I just glossed over everything to get it finished. It raised a lot of questions, that ultimately don't really tie up.
SpoilerThe moment you realise all 3 POV's are the same character was very well done. But unfortunately the evil hubbie just didn't feel as plausible. How can he manipulate his wife- a doctor -so well, so that she's not only clueless about her own medication, but she has no idea she's mentally ill? Why did he knowingly bring 2 children into the mix ? Is it just a massive coincidence his ex's sister lives across the road form their new house ? On a super remote island ? I also felt very sorry for the insanely neglected Imogen... And the ending tied up a bit too neatly, given everything that unfolded..
I'd give it 2.5/5 good build up but disappointing overall.
