The Other Mrs.

This book was sooo good. At first it was a little slow, the story didn’t really pull me in until I was about at the halfway point. But there were so many twists at the end that it was worth it imo. Def read!!

2.75⭐️ I’m bored. I had high hopes because I really enjoyed her other books, but it was lackluster. The writing isn’t as good as the others, with lots of overly explained scenes and characters. Also, I’m just so sick of “cheater” tropes. I didn’t hate it though, I did end up finishing the book, but I had to do it on 3x the speed on audio.

DID NOT FINISH

I don’t know where to begin… I put it on audio because lately that’s where my brain has been doing good. However, Sadie, the FMC, was overly descriptive with everything she did. She would recount a memory at random and then would go on this huge ass tangent, then come back to the original point and my brain was going “what?!
I did my due diligence and checked out the reviews to make sure I wasn’t crazy, I was not. Many readers noticed the bad grammar and long ass tangents.
This is my second attempt at a Mary Kubica book and both I have DNF’d. Obviously her and I can’t hang anymore and it’s time to bid her goodbye and hope to god future Lexie does not think about giving her a third chance.

3.5 stars rounded to 4.

There are several characters at play in this murder/mystery/thriller. The plot progresses slowly but is engaging and fascinating along the way. The twist is kinda predictable, but it is still interesting and an enjoyable read. I loved the ending.

By 2/3rds of the way in, it was glaringly obvious what was going on, but I kept going because there were a lot of moving pieces and I was interested to know how they would all come together. I’m glad I finished it, I enjoyed it more than expected. Not great, but also not terrible.

I can’t really write anything without spoilers but the plot was messy and unsettling.
