This was a fun read for me. In my eyes, A.B. Frost captures the mischievous spirit of the Norse trickster deity Loki very well, with a lot of humor - and he is depicted as a very queer character, I love that. What I didn’t like about this aspect was that basically all the deities called him a pervert, for things like wearing a dress and makeup and such. This got repeated a bit too often for my taste.

I guess this novella is more easily accessible if you have some knowledge of the Norse myths, because there are lots of details and hints which might get lost in the text, if you have never read Norse mythology.
To me, this story was a bit like a sort of Asgardian soap opera, and I mean this in a positive way.

"Illusion is the first of all pleasures and I, Loki, am not a stranger to any of them."

I've always been obsessed with Loki (s/o to Marvel), so I was PUMPED when I won this ebook through a Goodreads giveaway!

This novella was so well-done. I devoured it in a night. I really enjoyed Frost's writing style. It's very descriptive and flows very nicely. I also really loved how they introduced the characters and set up the storyline arc. This was one of my first literary introductions to Norse mythology, and I didn't feel overwhelmed or confused by an information or character overload. I think Frost does a great job of building this really cool world with really interesting, multi-dimensional characters.

Really looking forward to more from this author :)
