Two stars instead of the one I expected because I almost, maybe, kind of, sort of, saw some character development. I loved this series so much in the beginning and I just have to get to the end but each of the last dozen (for real) has been progressively more painful.

Her best in a while, Evanovich mixes the preposterous with grim reality here the same way she did in the first in the series. There's a giraffe loose in the Burg, her boyfriend's cousin is a notorious criminal, and there's a serial killer on the loose who could have Grandma in his sights. Lots of laugh out loud moments, and a great Lula book.
Best of the Stephanie Plum books in a while! Made me laugh several times :)

Silly fun. Lorelai King’s narration makes these books fun to listen to.
I hate to say it, but these books are getting old. I have been an avid reader of the series since I first got my hands on them around ten years ago, but sadly, my patience is starting to wear thin. Stephanie's hijinks used to be really funny, but after twenty books, it would be nice to see her making some progress and not always being the butt of the joke. The books are becoming formulaic - Lula accompanies Stephanie, they lose the skip due to some silly circumstances, they get donuts/Cluck in a Bucket, etc., case requires Grandma's help, etc. My other real gripe is the Stephanie-Morelli-Ranger triangle. Again, at the beginning it was interesting, but now I just feel like Stephanie is being really selfish in how she is treating the men (Ranger doesn't seem to care but I don't like the way she's treating Morelli). Make up your mind!!
I will likely pick up the next in the series just to see how (or when) it ends, but I don't find myself running out to get the book the day it is released like I used to....

I forgot how much I like these books. Totally fluff reads, but I enjoy every minute of them!
