I wanted to like this a lot more than I did because I love the concept. But at no point did I ever really feel immersed in the book, and I wish they had taken more advantage of the graphic novel format as I think that would've helped. Overall it was fine? If you're curious, it won' t hurt to pick it up. However, if you're on the fence, I say skip it.

An excellent graphic novel adaptation of the source material. Uses a great number of different framing devices and art styles to keep the reader interested. Would definitely recommend to anyone who has trouble reading long-form nonfiction books.

This was. . . fine? I read the book it's based on, which I liked more. I think I was hoping the info would be lifted out of the text more, but instead, there were lots of panels with people just saying true things. I wish they had taken more advantage of the medium. It felt like they attempted flights of fancy but then seemed to be tethered to reality (in presentation) due to an obligation to be factual.
I'd say this would be ideal for anyone who hasn't read the other book and isn't sure if it's right for them and/or they're not ready to tackle a big chunk of non-fiction.

I still recommend Sapiens, but Harari is absolutely presenting a narrative based on suppositions and assumptions and guesses. He is NOT presenting truth, although he does try to present it that way.
