3/5 - had to watch the show which made me want to read the books. sooo cute but soo deeply misogynistic… why does belly have no good friends and no good female relationships besides susannah. especially taylor !! damn they did her so dirty by having her already have kissed all the boys it was giving madonna whore complex all around

i felt so biased reading it since loving the show so much and still do, im really not sure how much i wouldve liked it before watching the show because the show did do a better job cleaning up the characters and their rough edges. definitely preferred the show over the book.. but i did really enjoy the intimate and romantic scenes that i usually dont get unless watching a good romcom. it was endearing and so cute that i leave it at a 3 star !!

also justice for cam cameron ripp

I loved this book, switching between characters and teams. Can't wait to watch the second series

Sadly this was disappointing. No plot and Belly was insufferable. I never thought I’d say this but the show is way better than the book.

After seeing all the buzz about the TV adaptation, I decided to start with the book series first (because they always say the books are better, right?!).

This was such a low-stress, easy read—perfect for a nostalgic thirty-something who just wants to sink into a sweet story about young love and growing up.

Belly’s character instantly transported me back to my teenage years and gave me that nostalgic, butterfly-filled feeling. If I’d read this as a teen, I know I would have been obsessed. The themes of young love and family don’t hit quite the same for me now, but I still appreciated them for what they were.

I’ll definitely keep reading the series (and then watching the show right after).
