A Cowboy to Remember by Rebekah Weatherspoon is the first book in the Cowboys of California series, it's the first western I've ever read and it was very cute. Evie Buchanan is a chef who has a spot on a morning show and she has recently lost her memory from a accident at an industry party. After waking up with amnesia she's informed that there's only one person on her emergency contact list, a sexy African American cowboy named Zach, apparently from her past. Zach messed up the first chance he had with Evie, now that he has a fresh start, will he be able to convince her to fall in love?
Evie and Zach were cute together, and almost all of the side characters were really nice. I don't think this was my favorite romance story, but I did enjoy the read. I can not see myself reading this again though, because of the slow pacing in the middle of the book. It feels as if not much happens for a bit and I hate when I feel like the plot is stalling. I did like the epilogue.
The spicy scene was okay, there was only one if I remember correctly. It wasn't my favorite spicy scene and I honestly wish there were more, but I understand that the author is trying to tell an actual story that's not exactly an erotica. I'm giving the spicy scenes two point seventy-five chilies đśď¸đśď¸.75 out of five chilies
Overall this romance was okay, there were cute moments, a few moments that were boring, and the one spicy scene was alright. I'm giving this 3 out of 5 stars.

Cowboys from California and Black. Else
Evie Buchanan is a chef who loses her memory, not just a little bit but all the way. She doesnât remember who she is at all. Her assistant doesnât know what else to do so she contacts the closest thing to family she has. They happen to run a luxury ranch in California where Evie grew up. She doesnât remember the ranch until Zach gets to her hospital room. When he walks in, she realizes that she has been dreaming of him.
Zach and Evie havenât seen each other in years. The last time was when their families decided to make sure that Evie and Zach would be nothing more than friends. Evie tried to get him to see that they could be more than friends, but Zach wasnât having it and so Evie left the ranch and California. But now that they are back together in the same place Zach refuses to let her go again. His only problem is that she doesnât remember that they have a history.
The one thing I liked about this book was that you were about to see the healing happening. The communication that hadnât been there before was repaired and things that families tend to not deal with, they are now dealing with.
This was a great book. Thank you to NetGalley for giving me a copy to read in exchange for an honest review.

I wasn't sure I was going to like this book. I wanted to read it kind of as an experiment. Do I let Cowboy books? Do I like memory loss books? Turns out yes. Yes I do. I enjoyed pretty much every character in this book. I'm excited to read more in the series because I want more of them!

Sheâs not mad enough about him taking advantage of her amnesia. He started a whole relationship with her when she lost her memories, and she was still willing to date him? This book wouldâve been better if it was just about her recovery, sans the romance. I enjoyed her banter with the girls and Jesse far more than her scenes with Zach. Itâs not the worst romance Iâve read, but I canât give it three stars since I literally wished it wasnât a romance.

Rebekah Weatherspoonâs A Cowboy to Remember is everything a good romance should be. With compelling protagonists, witty banter, and a whole lot of chemistry, first-time Weatherspoon readers and hard-core fans alike will be delighted by this novel. The best part? This is the first of a new series, and I already canât wait to see what comes next.
After chef Evie Buchanan loses her memory after a terrible fall, she finds herself back in Charming, California in the presence of the man who once broke her heart. Cowboy Zach Pleasant is set on righting the wrongs of the past, which is tricky, since Evie doesnât remember them. As Evie and Zach grow closer, and fragments of her memory begin to return, the question becomes whether or not these two will have a second chance at love, or whether the faults of the past and the realities of the present are too insurmountable.
This is the first Rebekah Weatherspoon novel I have ever read, and it most definitely will not be the last. Weatherspoon takes an interesting spin on what could perhaps be viewed as an unrealistic trope, and makes it So. Darn. Entertaining. I am here for all of it. And donât even get me started on the simmering chemistry between Evie and Zach. I felt all of the feelings and then some. Weatherspoon is a world-building genius, and populates the narrative with vibrant, actualized characters. The story is fun, with minimal angst, and the ending will leave you with a huge smile on your face.
Hold on to your (cowboy) hats folks, and add A Cowboy to Remember to you TBR pile, stat. And start getting excited for the rest of the series.

Rebekah Weatherspoon has a way of taking historical romance tropes and making them work for contemporaries, but I don't think amnesia plots are my thing. I fell in love with Jesse though and hope he gets his own book!
