This was a great read. I was skeptical at first as I don't normally read books about Demons. I have but not too much. I feel like with Demons, you can go so many different ways and if it doesn't paint a similar picture to what you imagine, then you might not like it. This book was similar to what I would picture in this situation and really made me enjoy the book.
There is this undeniable pull between Daiya and Kai even though they shouldn't be together, they cannot stay away from one another. You get to see Daiya struggle with her life obstacles and choose her decisions. She puts thought into everything and even though she should stay away from Kai for both their safety, she just can't. She just keeps fighting this battle back and forth, but comes to realize they are both better together rather than apart.
This book does end up with a cliff hanger because you find out what Kai really is and you already know Daiya is going to shy away. I guess we will see in book 2 how long she will shy away for. Will it be for a short time, long time, or for good?

This was a fun and entertaining read with a hell of a cliffhanger! Even if the characters could go a little more into debth and it could use a little more thrill, I really enjoyed reading it. Can't wait for the sequel!

OH MY FREAKING GOD. What an amazing book I just read! From the beginning the mystery of Dayia and her sisters is just pulling the reader in. The cryptic conversations between made me think what they are: vampires, ware wolves??? Nothing prepared me for the story Ms White thought of. It's just simply amazing.

In this story we meet Dayia and her 2 sisters. They moved to a new city after one of the sisters have made a mistake. Dayia has enough of moving around and just wants to stay in one place. Especially now when it's her senior year and also she is going through changes. And those changes makes you wonder what is going on??

But this story is not only about Dayia and her awakening, but also about love. And ooooohhhh that love. It gives you all the right feels. Kai is every girl dream come true.

But with everything that is happening around them will they love survive??

Can't wait for book 2!!!

5 amazing stars!

ABSOLUTELY AMAZING!

I am not a huge fan of PNR but I fell in love with this one. Daiya and her sisters have a unique back story but the paranormal aspect makes them that much more intriguing. The writing is gripping and held my attention from start to finish.

* I received and ARC in exchange for my honest review.

I LOVED this book!! I've never finished a book this quick. I literally needed to keep on reading, I just couldn't put this book down.
The characters are amazing, and the story line is so interesting!! In the first few chapters you keep on wondering what "The Awakening" is, and I found myself skimming the page for a clue :)

The 3 sisters, Demi, Devlin & Dayia, are such great characters. Demi is the responsible one, Devlin is the free-spirited one and Dayia is still finding herself.
This is a great paranormal romance with a little bit of mystery finely woven through the pages.

May I just add *CLIFFHANGER*!!! When I read the last page, I was like one of those people falling on their knees and shouting NOOOOOOOOO....

I can't wait for book 2, this story is running through my head the whole time. I felt like I was compelled to read the book that quickly. ;)

Today this book is released, happy release day Grace White!! ⭐️

What an amazing start to a new paranormal series! I was a little hesitant to read this series because I’ve read things by Grace White’s alter-ego that I didn’t fully enjoy but once I delved into this book, I was blown away. White has created a unique world and mythos for this storyline that completely enthralled me. Her world building was spot on and I loved each layer of it that she revealed.

Daiya is quiet, a loner, and everything is about to change for her. She’s determined not to make any friends or have any boyfriends this year. All that stuff won’t matter once she awakens. Her powers are similar to what I’ve seen in other books but the mythos behind them is something I haven’t seen before. I loved the different elements to it. I don’t want to give too much away because I don’t want to spoil anything for anyone. Kai is popular, talented, and sexy. He doesn’t letter Daiya’s abrasive attitude scare him away. Their connection is immediate and palpable.

The story is a little formulaic in that there’s a prophecy that involves the couple but White writes it in a fresh, new way that made that matter very little. If you’re looking for steamy action, this isn’t the book for you. Most “action” takes place behind closed doors so to speak. There’s kissing, heavy petting, etc. but descriptive sex isn’t involved. But trust me, you won’t miss it. The action, mystery, and romance will keep you charmed and on the edge of your seat.

If you like paranormal books, this is definitely one to pick up.

I couldn't wait to get my hands on this book. I love a good paranormal romance, they were my first love when I started reading but I haven't read one in ages.
We follow Daiya and her sisters, Devlin and Demi. Daiya is the youngest and the last one in the family to awaken. Devlin is the crazy, wild sister while Demi is the one that had to grow up fast when their mother died to take care of them. Daiya is scared about awakening, and letting her demon lose. She has seen the bad side of it with her sister Devlin and doesn't want that to happen.
But Daiya has always been different, even right down to the way she looks compared with her sister so what if she isn't meant to just awaken but change the balance between good and evil.

I really enjoyed this story, I like the fact it wasn't your typical paranormal book with vampires or werewolves in. The story was interesting and about half way through I found myself needing to read more to find out what would happen next.
There were a few twists to the story that I didn't see coming, and had me thinking "I can't believe that just happened." The story ends on a big cliffhanger, and I'm hoping there isn't too much of a long wait for book 2.
The characters were great, I loved Daiya. She just wants a normal life but that can never happen when your half demon.
Devlin I felt like slapping on more then one occasion. She can be a bit of a bi*ch sometimes. Demi is completely opposite of Devlin, and she is just looking out for her sisters.

Can't wait for book 2!

Awaken is Book #1 in a brand new mature Y/NA paranormal romance series, by Grace White. The series is called the Lilituria Prophecy, and it is a really great start to the series. This is a hard review for me to write spoiler free, so I am going to do a mini review and then share an excerpt with you. I think Awaken is a good start to what looks to be a really interesting series. I think lovers of Paranormal romance will really respond positively to this book and series. And I have to say, I really love the cover. I can't wait to see what the cover for the next book in the series looks like.

Daiya is such an interesting character. And for the record, I mean interesting the best possible way, not the I don't know what else to say and she is weird way. Her powers are unique and different. A little bit like a succubus, but not exactly. She fears turning 18 because she thinks her powers will consume her and she will become helpless in her own body. That must be such a scary thought, which is not always the way people view their powers in stories like this one. I think that is what I liked the most about Awaken. It felt different to me. Kai is fantastic too. Their story is one that I cannot wait to continue.
