Ik ben fan van Enriquez, maar het volume van dit boek was te groot. Ze imponeert beter in haar short story’s.
nOt my kind of book. Made me really uncomfortable. Made it 9.5 hrs into the audiobook and stopping now bc it would not be worth the full 27 hrs. Really did not like the child abuse (obvi) and from what I hear it gets worse. I also didnt really see a main plotline. How do you get 9.5 hrs into a book w.o a main plot? I just didnt see where the story was going. Also very dubious consent

Fewer slasher-y sudden scares, more grotesque sinister dark magic with characters and imagery that will certainly haunt me, and complex familial relationships that question notions of loyalty, love, and sacrifice.

Um livro que é muito mais que uma história de horror. Tendo a ditadura argentina como pano de fundo, vão aparecendo inúmeras referências ao folclore argentino, a músicas e lugares. Não conhecia nada da Mariana Henríquez, mas fiquei bastante curioso para ler as outras obras da autora.
