Definitivamente terminarlo ya fue un triunfo en sí mismo, y sin ser experta en literatura, declaro sin duda que es una de mis novelas favoritas que seguramente releeré en el futuro. No hay mucho que decir de la historia porque hay muchísimas reseñas que lo hacen bastante bien. Solo puedo comentar que es una buena historia de terror para personas que no solemos leer terror. Además me encanta el componente de crítica social que mete (claro, según mi lectura) de las élites y la manipulación de creencias para ciertos fines, de la dictadura y la doble moral alrededor de la sexualidad, sobre todo la homosexualidad, en ese contexto. Además me parece que las consecuencias psicológicas de las vivencias que tienen Juan y Gaspar están muy bien, es decir, tiene mucho sentido cómo eso define su forma de relacionarse con otras personas. Y del final, creo que soy de las pocas a las que si le gustó, pero más que gustarme, siento que realmente terminó como debía terminar (claro que mi parte sentimental hubiera igual querido algo distinto, pero lo acepto como fue jejeje). Finalmente, este libro me acompañó en parte de mi proceso de duelo paterno, entonces, de alguna forma, a través de esta ficción, siento que algunas cosas se aclararon en mi cabeza. En fin, yo se lo recomendaría a todo el mundo.

Mi primer libro y mi primera novela de esta autora que promete erizarte la piel con sus cuento. Nunca había leído nada de ella más sin embargo siempre me llamó la atención y agradezco a Booktok y su algoritmo por mostrármelo tanto que tuve que hacerme de él para estar tranquila.
Nuestra parte de noche es una novela que narra la relación entre un padre y un hijo contada en distintas facetas desde la perspectiva de los personajes principales y secundarios de manera cronológica, donde termina uno empieza el otro y eso hace de esta lectura sea más dinámica y entretenida, es que no lo podía soltar. Todos los nudos tienen desenlace en algún momento.
Me gusta mucho la referencias políticas y sociales de la Argentina de una época que me obligó a ir a san Google a investigar.
En conclusión creo que esta historia no es para todo el mundo, si no te gusta el terror, espiritualidad, brujería, temas sociales y políticos mezclado con LGBT pasa de este libro.

I've never read a book like this before. It was weird, yet it was intriguing and lyrical. This is the story of a father trying to save his son from their cult-like family. This book dives into the lives of father, mother, and son and how they're intertwined in this cult looking to be immortal.
I took a long time to read this book because there are no chapters, but has very long parts. There are also very long paragraphs of text. Sometimes with quotations, sometimes without. I had to read this book extra slowly, which may have contributed to my enjoyment of the book.
Overall, I do not regret reading this book, because it was unique and one that I will be thinking about for a long time.

La inmortalidad ya está sobrevalorada.
El libro arrancó muy bien. La primera parte no me dejaba soltar el libro y quería más. Sin embargo, con forme avancé me surgieron dos problemas: los personajes y la narración.
Juan cómo protagonista fue un 10/10 para mí, alguien gris e interesante para conocer con todos sus secretos y altibajos. Rosario también fue un alivio, su voz sirvió mucho para el libro. Mi problema va con Gaspar, Vicky y Pablo. Estuvieron bien, pero me llegaron a aburrir muchísimo en varias partes, especialmente cuando son niños. En esa parte del libro la narración bajó su calidad para mí, siento que al tener tantos puntos de vista se perdía la historia porque no le daba profundidad a ninguno. Fácil se pueden quitar unas trescientas páginas al libro solo de povs innecesarios cuando otros personajes generan más curiosidad.
Y el final estuvo bien, muy meh porque se venía venir todo a pesar de la construcción que se dió y la idea de una sorpresa con ese final medio "abierto". Ojo, lo que me encantó fue la ambientación y todo el tema de la magia (menos los motivos de la Orden porque ya está muy usado), las descripciones de las mansiones y de Londres te transportan de una. También hay que resaltar las escenas de acción porque cuando son interesantes las páginas pasan sin sentirlas. En fin, está bien, pero no sé si algún día lo volveré a leer.

me tomó mucho tiempo terminarlo pero valió la pena OMG
this book was so... enveloping, so familiar, so intimate, i dont quite know how to describe the vibe of this but it is typical mariana enriquez' writing which is always so luxurious but not in a vladmir nabokov, uses a lots of unusual adjectives kind of way, it's simpky the way she builds setting and character and mood, it pulls you in and holds you there and it feels weirdly intimate even if it's a little strange to you, like when a hot stranger at a party puts their mouth right next to your ear to talk to you so you can hear them. all my usual praise for mariana enriquez applies, excellent character construction, excellent dialogue, engaging til the last line (which is particularly impressive in this one because it is a 500 page novel), and weaves her trademark horror into the story. the only reason this book is not a 5 star is that im not sure im entirely sold on the plot itself; it felt a little aimlessltly windey at points and i'd venture to say that it didnt feel necessary all of the time. i think she had all the ingredients of a good novel because she is such a great writer and knew she wanted to write about the supernatural, witchcraft, rituals, and folk magic but didnt quite end up with a solid Plot that felt foolproof and totally figured out. and i am no critic of long novels with no defined plot but it felt like she did Try to bring it beyond that and while still a completely engrossing, successful novel in other respects, i think it just slightly missed that mark and could have used some more carving out and refining. what this book explore exquisitely though was family and familial dynamics and reading about the father/son relationship was complex and fascinating. also wider family and every single dynamic was so intricate and never painted with a black or white brush, just like regular human relationships they were all multi faceted and not easily summed up.
also in my fervour to read as much as possible, i had forgotten how much i love to read long books, how they start to feel so familiar and like youre visiting old friends each day, how everything feels like it Matters because you are invested in these characters youve been reading about for several hundred pages. i mean im sure a large portion of that was how good of a writer enriquez is and how she creates such palpable atmosphere that you cannot help but want to get wrapped up in. also it really is a testament to her writing because generally i tend to struggle to not be quite disconnected from more fantastical stories and sort of roll my eyes almost when it comes to things like magic, but i really did not have a problem with this book in terms of that at all, the magical element felt natural and almost realistic for the situations they appeared in. i think basically what im saying is that i would read mariana enriquez' grocery lists if i could.
