“Kyou was ready to just call this year quits. He was to the point of building a blanket fort, stocking some snacks and a Switch, and he’d just game and snack until this year was over. Being a responsible adult was too much.”

The Unholy Trifecta trilogy is made up of a cast of gems, but I love how relatable Kyou is.

“I performed a social activity yesterday. Please wait the requisite three days before submitting another request.”

We finally get to meet the infamous Brannigan—who Sherwood teased readers with in the previous two books. Their relationship is definitely unconventional, but the dynamic it creates is amazing.

I’m sad to say goodbye to these characters. Fingers crossed that Remi gets her own book in the future!

“Listen to me, Bran, that kid looks like a sweet, innocent angel on the surface. Do not be stupid enough to buy into her act. She’s being raised by an assassin, mercenary, hacker, and thief. I’m the sanest one of the group, aside from Lollipop, and he was crazy enough to marry the insane Russian thief, so I don’t know how much faith I have in his sanity. You understand me? Do not upset her. And don’t be condescending. Trust me, she can flatten you.”

I loved Bran and Kyou's interactions from the first page.
I think it did take my brain a little bit of time to catch up to how Bran could be immediately infatuated with him having just met him but they've had 6 years of getting to know you so I can deal.
Seeing the other couples just made me very happy.

I love this gang! I liked Remi even though she’s quite precocious. I liked how bad ass they were. Brannigan was a good fit for Kyou. There was plenty of humour in this book.

As I’ve expected, the third book to the Unholy Trifecta was better than the first two books. I think it’s because K and Brannigan has a long history even though they have not met. K stalked him online for years, not for nefarious purposes but so he could watch over him – which sounds exactly what a stalker would say! Anyway, K has always kept his reasons hidden for putting Brannigan’s safety a priority, so we find out in this instalment.

For Brannigan, while his reasons for invading the Irish mob’s territory was all for enriching bad neighborhoods and giving small businesses a fighting chance, he also has an ulterior motive: it will give his online stalker an aneurysm because more than anything, he wants to meet K (understatement of the century). But the elusive hacker refuses to even tell him his real name. Things will come to a head when K finds out Brannigan has a price on his head.

Listen, regardless of how I felt for the milquetoast that were the first two books in this series, this book more than made up for it. I love the dynamics between the criminal trio and the bandwagon that was their family. I also loved finding out why K was so insistent on protecting Brannigan and his sister religiously throughout the years.

Much like the first two books, the action sequences in this one is also a bit benign. More often, the reader only gets a second-hand account of what’s going on. Like listening to a tapped conversation. So, if you’re one of those readers whose heart can’t handle the high octane action sequences, then you’ll enjoy these books.

Super cute book. There was some build up in previous books, but there could have been more in this one, I felt there wasn't enough sexual tension given all the foreshadowing. The couple was cute. Once again the lives are unrealistically charmed but it made for a fun low-angst read.
