This one really had too many parallels to my real life lived right now. The Christian community is much more progressive nowadays however knowing where some of their hard lines lay within their cultural happenings are still present today. Obviously not to the extremes portrayed in this book but religious communities (not just Christian) did practice actions of extracting the devil.

Not quite sure what I expected from this one, but it definitely wasn’t what I got. To be honest, if this wasn’t for a book club I probably wouldn’t have finished.
That said, I was rooting for Loretta the whole time and I was satisfied with how everything ended.
So if you are looking for a book that’s heavy on abusive marriage and women not having rights with a side of psychic abilities and mystery, then maybe this is for you. I personally wanted a little less of the former and more of the latter.
