Addicting read! 1950’s setting with a woman named Loretta who is portrayed as a “perfect” housewife BUT she is seeing ghosts?! This is right up my alley. This book made me feel a few emotions but rage was at the forefront for most of it which fueled my want to finish this ASAP.

Interesting story and I liked that it was set in the 1950s. The story lagged at times, and I’m not sure the way the ending played out was quite realistic. I’m sure a more accurate ending would have been a lobotomy for Loretta, and nothing would have happened to Pete at all. That felt more fantastical than the paranormal. The dialogue was a little over the top at times, but I think the author was trying to convey the 50s vibe. One more gripe — Loretta’s insistence on calling Curt
“Dr. Hansen” until they were married. I’m not sure the sinkhole was necessary to the plot, unless it went over my head. LOVED a cameo by LESBIANS! Queer representation is hard to come by, even moreso when the setting is the 1950s. Not my typical read, but overall enjoyable. It would be 3.5 stars if not for the lesbians.
