Loretta is a lonely housewife in the 1950s until she realises she has physic abilities. Once she meets Dr Hansen her life begins to change. Although her husband Pete does not like this he sees the devil at work. Loretta goes from strength to strength in this book and the story that unfolds is gripping! I cannot fault this book I thought it was inspired. 5 stars well deserved x

The most horrifying parts of this book were having to remember just how few rights and respects women were afforded back in the 1950s. Although things have changed, the progress in some areas continues to disappoint. Again, horrifying.
Other than the triggered frustration of the social issues, this was a light read. For me at least, taking into consideration some of the emotional massacres I tend to gravitate toward (I’m looking at you Gus Moreno). Some Sixth Sense vibe with a dash of Girl, Interrupted and Hallmark movie leaning. If you liked The Hacienda by Isabel Cañas, then this would be up your alley too. I liked this a lot.

I loved this book, I sped through it and listened to the audiobook all day long. It is a wonderful combination of history, suspense, feminism, and a little bit of fantasy with things like mediums and psychics. I loved it!

**spoiler alert** I only asked for one thing out of this book and that was for Loretta not to hook up with the doctor. Jesus H. Christ it's like getting served the perfect bowl of soup with all the things you love but you can't enjoy it because there's a hair in it.

I found this book very compelling. It follows a restricted housewife in the 50’s with clairvoyant abilities, it’s unlike any story I’ve read before and I devoured it! Definitely 5 stars from me!
