After I finished this book, I couldn’t speak for 10 minutes just trying to process it. It is just incomprehensible what human beings can do to each other. Maybe I’m being too gracious with the word human beings when I refer to the Nazis. My entire heart and soul breaks for what the people went through during the holocaust. I can’t even wrap my mind around the fact that this family tree went from a few hundred people before the war down to 17 people when the war was finished. 17!!!

An equally moving sequel to Vladek’s story-one that is hard to read but so important.
