Unlike The Sea Witch, this book started strong and I was very optimistic but the middle third contained a lot of scenes that were unnecessary, including the unsuccessful SA scene. I acknowledge that there was a trigger warning before it but how did it serve the plot? It added zero value to the story. I still have an issue with using modern language in a historical/medieval setting and this book fell into that in the middle third. But the final third was great and I enjoyed how the story was concluded.
Again, a very interesting and innovative retelling of a loved fairy tale but the writing has room for consistency and improvement.

This book was great. I loved the characters we met and how many twists and turns there was without feeling like they were there to just shock the reader.
I thought the world was interesting with the different faes and how they interacted and affected humans.
The sex scenes were also fantastically written like always. Personally there was some stuff that didn't interest me so it lost me a little, but that doesn't mean each scene wasn't well written. Like always make sure to look up triggers warnings on Rebecca F Kenney's site.
The Maleficent Farie is a solid sequel entry to the series which brings something new for readers to experience.
