Such a hard book to review because it wasn't meant to be published. It is just a draft. I love it though, as I love all things Laura wrote. I enjoy seeing what came next, even if it is sad. But I know where they ended up and how well that worked out!
Well that’s a wrap and I read them all. This one is different. It’s a quick review of the next 4 years of their lives together and the hardships and tragedies they faced. It is still full of story and first hand experiences but it moves so fast that you want more details. But overall it is nice to know a little more.

(3.5) This book is written a little differently that’s the other in the series since it was published after Laura’s death and was just a manuscript. That being said, it quickly tells of their hardships in their first 4 years married. It is unbelievable how many problems you could encounter back then. It make you feel grateful for all that you have now.
I wish this would have been completed as a full novel since it seemed so quick to get through, but it still tells so many details of how life really was. And my feeling on finally ending the series...well I wish there was more!

This post-humous work is a little more dry and a little less polished than her other books. However, it was really intriguing to read about married life in the 1880's versus what it would be like to be a newlywed now.
