Chuck Norris, in his own words. The book takes you through the fascinating and unlikely life journey of a humble legend. Simply written, this is a great source of knowledge into his history, character, and shaping. For fans or those who are merely curious.

Excellent book. Easy to read. Chuck tells his life story and how his faith and conservative values are very important to him.

Sometimes I'm just thrilled to read a book that I feel my grandma would appreciate. Chuck Norris has a story I'm quite confident my grandma as well as the majority of my family can appreciate: from hardship to success with a faithful mother who instills in her own son the belief that he can do anything and the belief that there is a God who loves him and has plans for him.

Aside from feeling like I was making my family proud - I really enjoyed learning about Chuck Norris as he desires to be portrayed vs. the numerous Chuck Norris jokes which were, for a time, quite commonplace. Having practiced the martial arts myself - I was a lot more interested in that aspect of his life than I had initially anticipated.

Overall, I enjoyed the story and think I'd quite enjoy getting to know Chuck Norris and his family in real life...perhaps I'll pretend to be a long lost cousin ;)

"Every technique I had learned was sharpened by constant, loudly shouted remarks. The Korean teaching method tends to focus on what a student is doing wrong rather than on what he or she is doing well." (location 727)

Why did I even read this book? I was searching for memoirs and this title appeared in my search results. I started reading it as an inside joke (with myself) and ended up loving it.

Chuck Norris has overcome a lot of obstacles and made an honorable legacy for himself. He was the son of an alcoholic and decided to go down a healthier path for himself and his young family. He made a lot of mistakes, but his passion for karate opened up a lot of doors in his life.

Though it’s not a challenging read or completely life changing book, I would actually recommend this book to anyone.

Who wouldn't want to read about one of the best kick-butt actors of all time?!
The memoir did not disappoint. Whether you are a fan or not. You are familiar with his work. I was fascinated by some of the things that I didn't know about him, like his name is Carlos and not Chuck.
It was told in a great tone too. Chuck telling his story in a way that suited his Christianity also, which is appreciated. You have to respect a man who is not afraid to love God out loud, as Chuck does.
Great family too. Having children later in life, and his reasoning made sense to me. I almost chose to have later-life babies as well, but did not. I hope it's not a regret that I will one day garner deeply.
Good book though, as far as memoirs go.
