The book started out strong but the last third is where it lost me. I wish we got more answers about the world outside the Compound and the backstory of the show. Lily wasn’t super likable or relatable as a character. I did get parallels to Lord of the Flies especially once it hit the final four characters.

I was super invested in this in the beginning but I think I wanted more out of it. I think the societal commentary was great but I wish it wasn’t all wrapped up in the last chapter and that we knew more about the outside world.
