Hall's wonderfully-flawed characters and true-to-life feelings make up for the complete and utter lack of a plot. Husband Material's sole driving force is the thought of a wedding, and Luc and Oliver spend the majority of the book in fights that are both silly and extremely sociopolitically relevant. The ending was cute, but I wish it hadn't come out of pretty much nowhere. I honestly think the book would have been much stronger if it had had Oliver's perspective.
Still a cute read, and I enjoyed the additional look into Luc and Oliver's lives.

okay so for a lot of other people it seems that the ending was the largest issue with the whole thing, but controversially i thought that was fine, it was very in character. my biggest issue was the fact that i felt like i skipped four books between this first and second book because of that two year time jump, i feel like luc was missing a lot of dimension in this book, but i would also pay lots of money to have this book from oliver’s point of view, because he is genuinely an interesting character. overall it just felt a bit incomplete to me, i did actually love the message it was trying to send but i don’t think it ever got the chance to expand on the conversations it was trying to open.

🇬🇧: the book is well written and it is a fast read if the book speaks to you. It just wasn't the book for me... I thought luc was annoying and I got annoyed from the fact that they fight all the time over the littelest things. The story doesn't really revolve around the main characters but more around all the other people. You can read this book as a stand alone and as a serie, but I will not be reading part one.. there is nothing wrong with the writing of the book it just wasn't a book for me
