I absolutely loved this book. I raced through it. Luckily I don't know much about greek mythology, so the ending was a surprise. In some ways I wish it had ended differently, but overall I really loved this retelling of the ancient myth ❤️

No book has ever spoke to me more. To be a woman and to be a “strong woman” or a women with “masculine” interests, you may feel the need to boycott love. But Atalanta shows us that we can forge our own paths and follow our own desires, down whichever paths we choose.
Women have always had lives and dreams and wishes and emotions. I love to read historical fiction which centers of these incredible women.

Despite some pacing issues, this book provides Saint’s best heroine, with amazing world-building, amazing detail to the mythology explored within the text, and a happier ending than her other novels.

Saint did a great job combining two sometimes contradictory versions of the mythical Atalanta into one woman, but the pacing towards the end was off. Still, her interpretation of Atalanta's race for marriage was really good.

Without breaking your heart, Atalanta is a timely reminder of the cruelty of a world run by men. Any person who is feeling small and weak should spend time with Atalanta. The book will make you want to curse at the sky.
