The ending kind of disappointed me a lot, raskalnikov becoming a Christian and denouncing dialectics and education for the good book is just boring to me, finding redemption in Sonya is one thing but flipping a switch to make "her convictions his own" just seems completely counter to what raskalnikov was the whole story, his "redemption" comes kind of out of the blue
One of my new favorite books... the Oliver Ready translation is incredible, and the book itself feels so contemporary it's insane.

This book is a classic for a reason. My first Dostoevsky book I've reread. This translation felt more... real? There was something a bit more personable about this translation than the other I've read. I also love that. I almost forgot Raskolnikov threatened to kick someone down stairs lol.
I listened to this audio specifically because I was curious about Will Poulter reading. He does a very good job, especially when doing the voices for the different characters. I applaud him for that alone.

I love me some Russian literature, but I have always found C&P to be overrated.
