For a character driven book most characters felt quite one dimensional. I can't name a single personality trait of the main characters that stuck out to me. I was bored for the entirety of the book and couldn't connect with the story or the characters.
This sequel was very much needed after XOXO, Sori was literally one of my favourite side characters, and her relationship with Nathaniel was something that I wished to know about more.
Even though second chance romance is not one of my favourite tropes, the angt and chemistry between these two was chef kiss, also round of applause for Nathaniel, this man was down so bad for her after YEARS, like he really deserves the world.
My favourite thing about this book was probably the development of Sori's character from XOXO, I felt like she truly matured. She was already very confident, but in ASAP, she truly bloomed and was able to stand for herself.
While I agree with some people that the plot was kind of forgotten halfway through the book, this was a super comfortable binge read for me, I really needed a cute love story, and it's been a year since I've read my last idol romance.
Now I need a book for all the other members.

A sweet, fun and light hearted read. I love that it feels just like I’m watching a K-Drama. Sori and Nathanial have wonderful chemistry and it was so heartwarming to read Hyemi’s plot.
I was so happy to read another book following XOXO. I absolutely adored that novel. But I would say I enjoyed this one a *tiiiny* bit less. That isn’t saying much, because I still loved it tough!!

This read was an eye-opening walk through a culture I didn’t realize existed. It was like a romance novel from Victorian England was re-set in modern Korea. I was most struck by how this tiny slice of affluent society lives such a stifling, restricted life with oppressive social norms today. I realize this is fiction, but presumably some aspects of it reflect true, if only to move the plot along.
I know nothing about K-pop and can’t fathom the fandom obsession with their stars projecting a virginal, hormone-free, childish persona. Observed from my perspective it feels somewhere on the spectrum between Odd and Disturbing. I just don’t understand what is scandalous about two consenting adults being seen existing simultaneously in the same corridor. Or two 16 year-olds dating and kissing. Do fans require the fiction of innocence to not upset their twisted fantasies? The only thing I can say for this social construct is that the men are prisoners just as much as the women.
Despite the restrictive upbringing that continues into adulthood, the characters are genuinely nice people, if unsurprisingly shallow. It is heart warming to see the main character and her mother stand up a bit to the patriarchy. In a change from western fiction, the characters eat food and enjoy it, not constantly obsessed with thinness. At one point a character is described positively as having gained weight. If ever I daydreamed about being rich and famous, a read like this book sets me straight that anonymity is much preferable to fame, and after reaching Enough, more money certainly doesn’t bring happiness.
Overall I appreciate the immersive experience of a culture completely different from my own reality. The story is fairly cotton candy and the plot intrigue relies primarily on the tired go-to of two characters just failing to open their mouths to communicate authentically. The toxic patriarchy and deference to elders, no matter how abusive and undeserving, is new, and adds some interest. At the end of the day, I suspect I am too old and too western to appreciate this story further.

Absolutely adorable! A perfect continuation of the first book focusing on a different character. The audiobook was very well done and the characters were pretty easily distinguishable. Definitely a great funny and lighthearted read that was needed after some hefty books.
