This is the first book that I have read by this author. It was quite the story line. I liked it and it was very enjoyable. Bryenna becomes Queen when her mom takes ill. But she is facing more than one person could ever imagine. She faces something tragic and now how to figure out how to not only stay alive but figure out who is trying to destroy her and her family. But there is so much more to it then meets the eye. I absolutely loved the suspense and twists and turns in this story line. It keeps you on the edge of your seat waiting to see what is going to happen. I have to say my absolutely favorite character in this book is Nix. There is just something about him that makes him yummy even after finding out who he really is. I enjoyed reading this book and cannot wait to read more from this author.

Breyanna is your typical self centred 19 year old. Some complications arise and she is forced to take over as ‘interim’ Queen which is the last thing she wants. This forces her to put her college plans on hold and she is less than thrilled to say the least. I have to say at first I didn’t like her character but she grew on me as the story progressed. She matured and became a very likable character. I liked her and Declan together but I have a soft spot for Phoenix then again I do have a thing for bad boys. I’m curious to see how things will unfold when it comes to all parties.
Billie Dale is a new to me author and I love Paranormal stories so I was excited to read. I have to say I was pleasantly surprised with how much I enjoyed this story. I did have a slight issue with the flow of the in the beginning but as I continued things got better. This is a standalone but I think I would have better understanding if I read “Birthday Witch” prior to reading this story. This book had a very nice combination of romance, paranormal and comedy. I found myself laughing out loud several times as I read this story and that isn’t always an easy thing for me to do while reading romantic comedies. I found myself enjoying the secondary characters as well. I can’t wait for the next book in the series to see how everything unfolds. In the meantime I will read “Birthday Witch” so I can get a fuller feel for the series.

Super cute book! Tons of humor, and little life lessons. This book was well written and well executed. I enjoyed every minute, and was hooked instantly into this book. I can see this as totally relatable for any teen, but add in the paranormal aspect and it makes it one great read.
