Unfortunately, this didn’t hit for me. I expect it’s that I do not like this specific type of story; I know there are a few out there. It was short so felt like trying to do a lot in little time and missed. Too many characters (for a reason) but I couldn’t like or dislike any because there wasn’t enough there. And the suspense wasn’t suspenseful. I do enjoy Swanson’s other writings though and will still continue to read them all.

This book has so many characters so it is certainly difficult to keep them all straight. The twist at the end had some plot holes in my opinion and didn’t leave me feeling satisfied when I finished.

This book has a unique concept which is why I decided to read it. And the concept of the book was why I kept reading the book. I didn't find the characters very memorable and that is probably because there were so many of them and it doesn't feel like you really get to know any of them. Finding out the killer's reason for the killings is so anti-climatic. I expected waaaaay more from this book. I'm giving it a 2 because it is well written and the concept is interesting. I just wish I found the actual plot interesting.

Not my favorite Peter Swanson book, but still a solid read. I enjoyed how the story unfolded, but it wasn’t groundbreaking.
