An excellent, albeit brutal, read: the American West is fucked and it’s our fault.

Just not interesting to me. My rating isn't indicative of the book's quality.

Excellent history of developing the American west and the use of water to get there.

A dense and detailed look at the history of water in the American West. Cadillac Desert makes clear that our efforts to “make the desert bloom” are historically hubristic and almost definitely doomed to eventual failure. Not a speedy or easy read, but Reisner is an engaging writer and Cadillac Desert is well worth reading.

Very well researched and informative, depressing how corrupt politics is... the only reason I took off a star is because the audiobook narrator is so monotone it made that version difficult to get through.
