Elijah enjoyed this-- it was a good story but nothing I need to read again. The kids enjoyed the pen and ink pictures.
My oldest daughter enjoyed this book. As an adult some kid lit I enjoy and others are just so-so. This fell into that latter category. What I liked about this book were the strong supportive parental figures, the teamwork ethic to solve a problem, and the strong female character without belittling males!
A light hearted tale of a girl who wants to be a knight. This story is a great bedtime or classroom read. The pictures are beautiful and has everything a person might want and need in a book about magic. Following the story of Ingraine, a girl whose parents are kind magicians who own singing books. Their books are the envy of a wicked man who decides to lay siege to the lovely castle in which they all live. Ingraine has to help her parents who turn themselves into pigs!! Can she find the magic ingreidents, rescue her parents, all in time to save her home?
A delightfully light tale that will leave a smile on your face.

My 4.5 year old really enjoyed listening to this audiobook. My 40 year old spouse did as well. I liked that it dodged some of the gender norms that were expected of a book like this while still remaining fun and lighthearted. The voice actor for the audio book was also really good at doing all the different characters.
