You guys, this book is bad. Don’t let all of the shiny spaceships (ahem, Millennium Falcon, mmmm), and awesome pilots (HAN SOLO AND POE DAMERON) distract you from the problems.

Ugh. Seriously? Again? Still?

This is a little kids' book about the talented and passionate pilots of the star Wars universe- ALL movies. So... Where's Rey? Why are there ZERO females in this new line up of Star Wars themed Little Golden Books?

(At least, the ones I've seen: this one and "I am a Jedi" and "I am a Droid", which yes, contains many images of humans in addition to droids but has just one little Leia standing placidly in a group of white men on the last page; I haven't read the "I am a Princess one" about Leia yet, but already the name is an odd choice- why not call it something like "I am a leader" or "I am a Rebel", and use the many titles she's referred by, such as princess and general, in the story?)

Okay, fine, there's that one woman half-way through the story... who is being handed up a ship by a male pilot with accompanying text about "pilots flying queens". Because, obviously, ladies can't fly and walking up a ramp is hard, and females are special prize cargo for men's pride.

Seriously, I really like Star Wars, but the more you keep pushing girls and women out, the more will choose to walk out. And that's not a good thing- for anybody.

I mean, really, what goes through these peoples' heads when they make these products?? It would be SO EASY to do it right.
