When I was a kid, the [b: Gossip Girl|22188|Gossip Girl (Gossip Girl, #1)|Cecily von Ziegesar|https://d.gr-assets.com/books/1398814332s/22188.jpg|3061184] books were my favorite, because I don't live in America and I'm far from being rich, so reading about those filthy rich american teenagers allowed me to glimpse into a life I'd never have — and it was fun! So obviously, when I started this one I was engrossed; it felt like I was reading Gossip Girl all over again, but this time with asian grown-ups.
This was a fun, light read. The characters aren't really developed much but the writing is witty and actually made me laugh at some points, which basically never happens. Also, the little bits of information about Singapore and about Asian culture in general throughout the book were really interesting, and helped me learn a lot about things that I'd never read about otherwise.

Entertaining but I did struggle with the warped way these characters value people based on how much money they have. Parts of this were grossly crude and their lack of morals made me sick. Thankfully there are a few redeeming characters.
