I’m already looking forward to the reread of this, what a fantastic book! Alistair's flaws are significant, I love that this novel didn’t shy away from making him do some very bad things. And I admired Olivia so much. All around, just so so so good.

This just didn't hit the 4 star level I wanted but it was close.

I generally liked the story despite how it dragged at times. I could have done without page after page of inner dialogue - the same things over and over. Maybe it's because I didn't really connect with the characters, although I liked Olivia fine -Alastair not so much. There were a few quite funny scenes between them early on that gave me hope, but unfortunately I just didn't feel the tension and it all just fell a bit flat.
