I’ve never felt such an overwhelm of blended emotions at once. I’m almost speechless.
I wish I could rate this higher than 5 stars because I’m genuinely experiencing some kind of hangover from this book rn, like my heart is literally aching but also fluttering but also slowly tearing itself apart inside my chest, and all at once that it’s so strangely beautiful—I’m just in awe of being able to feel so much from reading about these characters. It’s like I can’t help smiling while crying all while wanting to scream. Help.

I’m beginning to notice that Cassandra Clare’s books, while they may start out slow, the ending seems to really pick up and you can’t put the book down. I’m not one for romance, and I’ll be honest those parts I skimmed over, but it’s clear Clare has created a world full of riveting characters whose developments are nothing short of intriguing.
