Cover quote was right, perfect for a stormy night. Once the various mysteries started to unfold it drew me in more. I did feel like there where a few gaps, as if it was not well thought out. It was still enjoyable read and will add Wendy Webb to my list of authors to go back to.

Love this genre of mystery/thrillers with a little paranormal thrown in. Easy read, keeps me turning the pages! Listened to this on Libby. I'm excited to find this author and read more of her books.

Not the best written book (a few inconsistencies and the pastor seemed a little too hip), but all in all a good story/plot and a fun read. I kept thinking of Glensheen (sp) Mansion in Duluth. Perhaps the author's 'muse'?!

I liked it overall. it seemed pretty clear that the house was based on glensheen, but I liked that. not all of the twists were obvious, the premise was clever, and it was a nice quick read. the only real downside was the open-ended epilogue. I hate those.

There's nothing I can say about this book that hasn't already been said in all the other one- and two-star reviews, and probably said better.

If I had to write a synopsis, it would look like this:
Grace Alban, a not-too-bright, rich, white woman who may have been influenced by B-list '40's noir movies, becomes embroiled in a melodramatic and drawn-out episode of Scooby Doo only without the Mystery Machine & Gang.
