A reread that seemed perfect for the Halloween season and with the release of Hocus Pocus 2. The first part of the book is basically the the movie while the second part takes place 25 years. It runs a bit long, but overall a fun seasonal read a solid 3.5 stars.

I enjoyed the novelization of the movie, it was spot on. As for the sequel, it was okay. I liked how it involves the original characters as adults with kids. This time the kids have to save their parents, town, and world. I like how the story includes technology, lgbtq+ characters, and forgiveness. I would definitely recommend this book.

This book was amazing!!!! And it was very interesting! I freaking love Hocus Pocus and reading a different take on it was great! I loved reading about some of the things that happened in the original. The new twist was really interesting and good as well!!!!

the first story 3/5 If you seen the movie you know the story. 2nd story 1/5 it was just lack luster. The characters were meh and the adults who were kids in the first one were even lack lustered as adults. plus certain things felt forced.

I can't even rate this. I love the first story. You can't help but picture the movie's characters while reading. As for the sequel...the author and Disney killed the hype. An absolute kill shot. The main character (the daughter of Max and Allison) is a 17-year-old lesbian who is in love with a Black girl who gets turned into a dog and stays that way for most of the book. I just...

The first half of the book is literally the movie written down. Not exaggerating. So it was okay. The second half of the book was much better. I had a lot of fun reading this. It had the same feeling as the first. Now just hoping the second movie is the same!

I can't wait until the movie comes out! The book is done in 2 parts. The first part is the original Hocus-pocus and the second part is years later with the daughter of Max. The writing style is just like the first one and I really enjoyed reading the second book. What I didn't really like was that I thought this was all about the second book but half of it was just repeating the first movie. I don't think that was needed.

I may have had way high expectations for this book since I love Hocus Pocus... but it just fell short for me. The entire first half of the story is a retelling scene for scene of the movie, which I didn't really need. Then the second half was meh. It was alright. I think I might have appreciated it more if I hadn't just spent half the book re-reading the movie. It's cute. For a kids book it's cute. As an avid Hocus Pocus fan, though, I definitely wanted more!
