“Narnia, Narnia, Narnia, awake. Love. Think. Speak. Be walking trees. Be talking beasts. Be divine waters.”

Very delightful! We giggled a lot when the bewildered Narnian creatures tried to plant bedraggled Uncle Andrew like a tree. Providing an imperious voice for Jadis was a throwback to high school Lady Macbeth monologues, and I loved it. I admittedly did not do so well with the Cabby's strong Cockney accent, but onward and upward!

This book revolves around the foundation of Narnia, the apple tree, the first king and queen, the wardrobe by which Lucy entered Narnia along with her siblings, and many other subtle details that blow the reader's mind. It is the sixth book publication-wise, but if you want to read the series chronologically, this is the first one.

I know it's a hot take but I really do think you should start the series here. What a delicious introduction to the beautiful magic of this series. Reading it again after so long feels like coming home to an old friend.

Phenomenal! I loved this quick paced adventure (my first ever book in the Chronicles of Narnia) and can’t wait to read the rest.

I loved this book as a kid, and I will forever love the concept of the Wood Between Worlds. Also I really wanna know more about Jadis and everything in Charn. Honestly I’d read a whole series about Charn (preferably written by someone else tho, if Lewis were still alive I wouldn’t trust him to write that story.)
Also some of the messaging is screwed up.

Reading The Chronicles of Narnia all the way through! Loved this first one, as always.:) It really gets the Godly message across in so many ways, truly a touching "fairy tale".

Another solid from the series, very much enjoying these fun books, looking forward to the last one.

Fun biblical references.
