4.5 stars. I loved the French Riviera setting and the appearance of a certain famous fashion designer. Well executed mystery. I love this series.
Another classic Her Royal Spyness book complete with some new "what the heck" moments cuz some stuff got weird. Lol.
Poor Georgiana - she's definitely a trouble magnet!
This time she finds herself in France, on a mission to retrieve a stolen item of the queen's. As her terrible luck would have it, the man who now has the item is pretty despicable and her mission proves to be more complicated than she would have expected.
Her finances are still abysmal, her family, at least part of it, still insufferable and a misunderstanding has caused a drift between her and her usual ally and romantic interest, Darcy.
Despite everything and with the help of old and new friends, she somehow manages to live through yet another adventure and I'm looking forward to listening to her next one in [b:The Twelve Clues of Christmas|13542533|The Twelve Clues of Christmas (Her Royal Spyness Mysteries, #6)|Rhys Bowen|https://images.gr-assets.com/books/1342983249s/13542533.jpg|19106822].

The most tense entry in the series so far with the most serious repercussions. The circumstances regarding the life and death of the sister were really important but were under played. Still, the most mysterious, least fluffy/silly/played for laughs entry to date.
This was a lot more high-stakes than previous novels, since Georgie is arrested for crimes in France and is guilty until proven innocent. I couldn't stop listening! She may be naive, but she has a sharp mind.

I like this series but its becoming a bit more predictable...but even though I say that I do find the stories enjoyable.
