I have read all of Georgie's books. But I have never truly experienced them until I listened to them on audio. Katherine Kellgren truly brings the story and characters to life. It's easy to forget it's a book and not a recording of a stage play. Georgie starts off suffering through a bitter English winter before she is whisked away to the French Rivera on a mission to retrieve a stolen snuff box for Queen Mary and also keep an eye on The Prince of Wales who is on a yacht with the notorious Wallis Simpson. She eventually ends up with her mother at her grand villa along with the famous Coco Chanel and her companion. What ensues is a tale of theft, forgery, murder and mistaken identity. A hilarious light hearted tale that has Georgie trying her hand at modeling, falling in love with a dashing rogue Marquis, and getting tangled up as the prime suspect in a murder by a bumbling police inspector who makes Inspector Clouseau look competent. I'm so glad I've started listening to my mom's old audio books and am rediscovering this delightful series all over again.

More fun, fluffy mystery with a touch of romance. This one was fun because it involved Georgie in a different locale and also Coco Chanel (?!).

Hey Royal Spyness takes off to France!

Cute series

Georgiana investigates the theft of Queen Mary's jewelry and priceless snuff box. Runs into her mother, who has a change of personality and is actually warm and welcoming this time. Also runs into Darcy. I don't understand their relationship. How can it be serious on either side? Well, hers, maybe, since she doesn't have much (any?) romantic experience. But he doesn't present himself as much more than a chimera. For me, this novel was less engrossing than the others in the series. Maybe I'm finding Georgie's fresh youth dull and Darcy disappointing. Though darkness swirls on the horizon in the form of German politics and Georgie's mother will be in the thick of things, as usual, in the future.

A change from London to the Riviera. Interesting how the author is spinning the rise of Hitler. I can't wait to see what happens next. I didn't figure this one out as fast either. Great pool reads - although the end of the series signals the end of summer pool time.

Possibly the best in the series so far.

These are pretty entertaining mysteries set in England (or surrounding environs) during the 30's.

Loved this one! Great location, fantastic character development and I didn't see the bad guy coming for a second. I love the interweaving of Georgie with real historic events. This series is just getting better and better. I really look forward to the next one.

I finished reading Naughty In Nice tonight. It's the fifth book in the Royal Spyness series by Rhys Bowen. Georgie travels to the Riviera on an assignment for Queen Mary in early 1933. Good fun.

It was the first book I read on my new Nook Simple Touch. I love my Sony, but the contrast on the Nook was a lot easier on my eyes.
