Cora Carmack

3.55 AVERAGE

After reading Losing It, I had to continue reading the series and any companion novels that were published. I chose this book. I had just finished reading about Bliss and Garrick and I thought, “Why not continue on with what happened to them next?”

Compared to what a lot of people thought about this book, I did not love it as much as its predecessor. I did enjoy it but I was not completely ecstatic about it. It was short and it kept me wanting more. I understand it was a novella but I feel more things could have been better explained.

I did love the fact that it was in Garrick’s point of view. Finally we are able to see what he is thinking! That is also one of the reasons why I felt so compelled to read this. He brought something to the story that was not there before. It was nice to finally see what he thought of Bliss and the feelings he has for her. There is also finally some backstory to him! We get to see why he left London and where he comes from and whatnot. That was pleasant to read.

There was the obvious growth in their relationship but other than that, it was fine. We do get two point of views in this book; it isn’t just Garrick’s. We are also allowed to see into what Bliss is thinking and how it feels being introduced to Garrick’s family and friends. But I must say that I enjoyed reading through Garrick’s point of view much more.

Also, there were quite a couple of plot holes that I wish would be addressed. I would go more in detail but that would be giving spoilers on the main plot of the story. But, if those would have been better addressed, I think I would have liked it much more.

Other than that, I enjoyed reading this novella. Did not love it but also did not hate it either.

I loved reading about Bliss and Garrick and what happens after. Since we've last seen these two they have some challenges that have begin to test their relationship. Things like meeting his parents and getting to know his life.

This was a bit more serious than Losing It, but I loved seeing them work out their problems.

Have you been missing Garrick and Bliss? Were you worried that we wouldn't find out anything about their future?

Well, you can stop all that now!

Keeping Her is a Garrick and Bliss novella. We meet up with them shortly after ... Oh wait... have you read FAKING IT yet? NO? Well, don't read this review then.

I'll give you a moment to move on.

I'm not lying. Close this if you haven't read Faking It.

okay... so we meet up with Garrick and Bliss shortly after their engagement. They are incredibly happy and excited and everything you should be when getting engaged and making plans for your future. Despite the fact that they rarely see each other, they are making everything work.

But Bliss finds herself stressed beyond belief because she and Garrick are off to London to meet his family. And everything she's heard of Garrick's mom, makes her think she'll never measure up or be good enough.

The Novella is told in both Garrick and Bliss's points of view so we can see just how solid their relationship is. But we also get to see the insecurities that they each have and the worries that they have to work through.

Of course everything isn't smooth sailing in London - a tiny complication though only makes their relationship stronger.

I loved the glance into their lives and to see where they are headed. Does this add anything to the original storyline? Probably not. It's just a cute, short little snip of what's to come for the two characters that started the Losing It Series.

Definitely pick this up if you need some more Garrick in your life... (that means everyone should read this!)

Thanks to Harper & Edelweiss for the advance copy for review!

Hát ez nagyon cuki volt. :D Bliss hozta a Szakítórpóbában megszokott formáját, és Garrick is megmaradt a tökéletes álomlovagnak.

I seriously couldn't love Cora Carmack anymore than I already do, or so I thought. Just this tiny novella had me laughing out loud. Carmack's talent is insane, and the only thing I hated about this novella was how short it was. I never wanted it to end!

I wouldn't even try to defend myself. I suck too bad at this lying business. God save me that I'm developing an appetite for cute fluffy NAs.

I enjoyed this novella. Bliss and Garrick are engaged. Would have liked to see their wedding. Bliss is meeting his parents and it was funny that she broke a vase. The pregnancy scare was cute.

It was a cute glimpse into a little more of the Garrick and Bliss story but also didn't real add much to it, which is why I gave it a 3 stars.

*3.5 stars*
This was super cute and short. I like the couple and it was sweet to get some extra insight into their relationship.

This novella was almost nauseatingly mushy. I mean take two creative, emotional types that find that one person that fits them and are still relatively new into their relationship. I’m talking diabetic levels of sweetness and PDA. But when things are that perfect, I’m always wondering what is coming around the corner to ruin it. Well it isn’t around the corner, but across the pond. Bliss is going to meet the future-in-laws. In-laws that are corporate uppity types. The reason that Garrick had to leave England for America to do what he loved.

Well, these two stand up to the pressure test. They remind us that it isn’t always going to be easy to live the dream and happy always beats a fat bank account.
