A peek into Garrick and Bliss's life post "Losing it" and a very sweet short story - my only complaint is that it is a short story and I could easily read more about them.
Not overall enthusiastic about this one. It was okay. Meeting Garrick's parents was a little unnerving. I think I like his mom, but we didn't get to spend enough time with her to really know for sure.
I feel so late to the party because this was my first time reading a book by Cora Carmack. Even though this is a novella in the middle of a series I could completely understand the flow of the stories and the character’s roles and I applaud Carmack and her writing style for being able to do this. Keeping Her is short, sweet, and to the point!
“She was the ultimate game changer. I hadn’t known what it was like to meet a person so full of joy that just by being near her, I was elevated to a happier place.”
Ummmm, hello??? How could you not love Garrick and the way that he loves Bliss? Bliss is quirky, clumsy, accident prone and Garrick loves her flaws and all. Keeping Her made me smile and now I must the find the time in my busy schedule to read all of the other books in this series!!!
DISCLAIMER: I received a complimentary copy of Keeping Her in exchange for an honest review.

One of the things I liked about this short novella is the dual POV. Finally we get to learn how Garrett thinks (and we get to read it in a sexy English accent). You get to really see how much he loves Bliss and to what lengths he would go to keep her satisfied.
Another thing I liked was that I felt like Bliss from Keeping Her was different from the Bliss in Losing It. Granted, it's been awhile since I read Losing It, so maybe I'm recalling differently. Bliss seemed very strong in this novella. Even when she was terrified, she would do what she does best: act. She's very good at putting on a front for other people when she's breaking down inside.
I also adored all her Harry Potter and LoTR references. Those our two of my favorite series, so references almost instantly make me love a book (with a few exceptions).
In general, I thought Keeping Her was an amazing companion to Losing It and am very much looking forward to reading Faking It, which has already been released.

This novella focuses on Garrick taking Bliss, his fiancee, to meet his parents in London and is told from both points of view.
Bliss is completely nervous about meeting her future in-laws, but the initial meeting does not go well. She has to act a part in order to cope. Meanwhile Garrick struggles to be in the world that he left behind eight years ago, and did not miss.
Thos novella just shows that Bliss and Garrick are perfect for each other as they both make the other stronger, whatever is thrown at them and that they will do anything to make the other happy.

I thought this was a cute short story about Garrick and Bliss. I love how I got to know more about Garrick's former life, but I would have loved to hear all of his embarrassing childhood stories as well. I found Bliss to be a bit insecure and I thought it hindered my initial reaction to her character. I thought there should have been more about Garrick's parents to see how he actually lived in those times. I give this a 3.5/5.
Cute and sweet! If you loved Losing it, you'll love this one. It has the humor and quirkiness of Losing It that was sadly missing from Faking it. Nice little novella.
