My son liked this one and I did too. I think it's a perfect choice for kids new to chapter books. I especially liked that the kids weren't unnecessarily sarcastic.

Hilarious gumshoe detective novel for early chapter readers. My six year old daughter read it in a couple of days and now is pestering me to go to the library so she can pickout another one.

This book was actually quite enjoyable. My 6 yr old read a few chapters to me (as much as his endurance old allow as he builds his fluency) and we read the rest together. It was so much more enjoyable than I expected. (Having gotten really burned out on Magic Treehouse books.) The mystery wasn't super complex, but there was definitely some humor which was more clever than usually found it books for this age group. Parent and kid approved...a tough combo to achieve.
