For all that I enjoyed this book, it is far longer than it needs to be. The banter and the romance are good, and I really liked the world-building, but it takes over 100 pages for him to even get to Tithenai, and there's a large period of time in the middle where the only focus of the story is the mystery. And for all that focus on the mystery, the way it gets revealed was fairly unsatisfying. Don't get me wrong, it's a fine book; the writing is good and I have no doubt there are people out there in the world who will justifiably rate it higher, but it just wasn't for me.
