A nice read-in-two-days-romance/rom-com. In the middle I was a bit annoyed at Lucien's behaviour, but he definitely got better from then on. Could have had a bit more depth overall, but it's okay. One day I'll read Part 2.

Pros:

I really like the realistic nature of the problems of the characters.  This is a really good exploration of self sabotage and the difficulty getting yourself to a stronger place.

I love that problems aren’t just solved to make for a happy ending.  Some of the characters are just assholes in here and we are left with that not them miraculously fixing themselves into less toxic people who regret their actions and do better.

Cons:

I struggled to get into this book at the beginning.  It wasn’t because of the relationship I just couldn’t seem to connect until things were a bit further in.  It took two solid attempts and somewhere between 20-30% of the book to be hooked.

I liked their relationship through the book, even though it was pretty slow paced. However I did think there was an unnecessary amount of trauma dumping and trauma in general in it. I get that they open up to each other and spill their trauma and ‘heal’ but it felt kind of unrealistic and overly dramatic at times. The writing in general was relatable and hilarious.
