3.5 rounded up.
I enjoyed this book but wasn’t fully emotionally invested. It took me a little while to get into the plot, and I did enjoy it. I loved seeing the creation of the movie and also Evie’s experiences as a romance writer. Her and Duke had a lot of chemistry and they grew on me as characters. However, I did struggle with the amount of miscommunication in this one. There were SO many misunderstandings and I just really wanted them to just speak about it rather than avoid it. I liked how they grew to trust each other and opened up about their families and their pasts, but with this trust should’ve come better communication about other things. Overall, a cute read and an enjoyable one. I loved the ending.
Thanks to Netgalley and Avon books UK for this E-arc in exchange for an honest review.

I need to preface this by saying how much I've always enjoyed LJW's books. They're always filled with warmth, laughter, and light.
However, I struggled a bit with this particular story. It took me until about the last quarter of the book to really get into it and feel like I actually enjoyed the characters and what was happening. The beginning especially irked me because none of the characters were very likable and their reasons for being frustrated with one another felt so ridiculous. Their chemistry as the story went on seemed a bit forced rather than feeling natural. I just didn't particularly like or connect with any of that.
That being said, the final bit of the book was actually pretty decent. The chemistry finally seemed to click, the emotional depth was there, and the cheesy "grand gesture"-style ending was very satisfying.
This probably wouldn't be a book I'd reach for again, but I am glad that I read it in the long-run.

I enjoyed a book by the author before so I was excited to get one set in my home country - Germany. And I have to say the atmosphere was great. German christmasmarkets really are magical but that was kind of where the research stopped. Sadly there was no actual research done on our legal system because the whole plot line of a paparazzi in Germany? yeah that is illegal here and not a thing. Also there are a lot of Germans who actually are able to speak English, so the Germans in the book felt stereotypical (as the setting in Bavaria).
So 1,5 stars for the atmosphere and the kudos to have it set in different cities and places in Bavaria not just in Munich.
