First of all, thank you to @avonbooksuk for my gifted review copy! Just For December is available now.

This is a charming enemies to lovers/ fake dating/ festive romance.
I enjoyed the setting the most - half film set, half German markets - it made for a really cosy, Christmassy read. So festive!

This couldn’t quite be 4 stars for me because unfortunately I didn’t gel 100% with Evie, our leading lady. I found her quite abrasive and struggled to relate to her at all.
I much preferred Duke’s chapters and found myself looking forward to getting to them. Duke was open, caring and willing to work through his character flaws.

The romance was sweet and we touch on some interesting topics too such as alcoholism and overspending which gave the story needed depth.

All in all this is a solid read, I just wish I’d connected with Evie a little more!

Cozy Read with winter vibes

We have a Hollywood-ish setting, enemies to lovers, fake dating situation going on... Do I have you hooked yet?

I was drawn to these characters right away. They each have their own set of baggage, which always makes a story more interesting. And I loved the side characters especially Magda, her honestly was what I hope for from my friends.

I recommend this book if you are looking for a cozy romance with winter/christmas vibes!

Many thanks to NetGalley and Avon Books for an ARC in exchange for an honest review.

Cute but a little lackluster - thank god for the side characters because they truly shine and saved me from the DNF. Grumpy/sunshine & fake dating are some of my faves but it takes a little too long for the MC to become likable. Evie goes way too hard on the grumpy, it lacks authenticity in the way that no one could really be this miserable and horrible in the face of so much kindness and privilege. We grow to like her but it doesn’t make up for how horrible she is at the beginning. If you can force yourself to forget it’s quite cute and wholesome with very little spice/fade to black if that’s your cup of tea.

I have never read a romcom where I thought the male love interest was this unattractive (personality wise). Evie and Duke had no chemistry. So sad because I've always really enjoyed ms Williams' books. This one felt off.

I'm not usually one for fake-dating romances but I could at least get on board with the premise of this one, and I enjoyed the German Christmas setting. But I could not get on at all with Evie. I get her cold-hearted persona is meant to be understood as her defense mechanism, but from the get go with Duke she's just mean, and even when she recognises he's hurt by several things she has said/done, she doesn't apologise. Duke is often annoying and certainly flawed, but I understand where he's coming from a lot more.
