I thought it was a lovely book. However there was a lot of focus on the characters flaws and I couldn’t really feeel the chemistry between the main characters however I did understand why they would be together.

I came to relate to both characters in different ways

I feel like the steamy scenes weren’t really needed, I can see why it might turn some people off

Behind the scenes. It was cute … It was a slow burn but I do love the way she writes her stories. Very detailed. This story is Pierre and Logan ... both haunted by their family’s high-profile fame that lingered above them both. One evening when Logan leaves Les she is distracted and wrecks her car into Pierre’s. She decided to be spontaneous and whew he took her on a ride!!! They assumed that was it but then Logan was contracted to assist Pierre on bringing his TV show to life. Pierre was a writer/ in film industry and Logan had legal background but was an executive concierge. Logan tries to retreat to keep it professional but she falls victim to the strong chemistry they shared. Once again it was not perfect and very unconventional and they both fought battles in their personal lives. Pierre’s sobriety and Logan’s family reticule for picking her passion where the main personal battles. They try to fight their connection but it was inevitable even with the social media outpours they succumbed. This was a lengthy story that mainly focused on the production of OSD (One Day Sober). I am enjoying learning the characters and entering her worlds (world building) it was nice to see Nick again. Few trigger warnings but on a minor level. I think my only issue was the story drug out and could have been shorter or focused more on the love story then the TV show and had the same effect.

Whew don’t forget this woman can write a sex scene and with the audio book whew it was medium spice but whew I felt like I was in the room. I would love to read a dirty raunchy book by her lol 😊

ONE-NIGHT STAND/WORK PLACE ROMANCE

Love how she closed the ending about there is never a true end to a character’s story you just tell the story you see!!! Yes, deep but I want an update woman!!!! (Little surprise) such beautiful writing. Wish it ended with a bang.

Logan and Pierre literally run into each other when Logan is running out on an unfulfilling relationship. They spend the night together and then find out they're working together on Pierre's new TV show.

I love Pierre. A real life Pierre might make me take back I said about dating writer boys, lol. He was layered and you felt his melancholy without him being a tortured soul. His sobriety was handled carefully, as was the topic of addiction itself. The need to rise above what brought you down, but also honor where you came from was a great piece of the writing for me. His family support and his connection to his sister and their parents was beautiful. Logan was smart, confident, and about her business. She did her job with so much awareness--she fit seamlessly into Pierre's life, and I'm glad he was able to convince her she did that in every way, not just professionally. I was happy Pierre got out of his feelings about her quickly--I like that he was mature in that regard, and that he respected her wishes but knew when to push back. Logan's struggles with acceptance from her family were great against this backdrop. It really drove the point home about making your own way in life, and in love.

And Logan and Pierre together being as passionate as they were was an added bonus and also so hot. It was easy because it was right. And everything they tried to do without each other was harder than it needed to be. Perfect.

If you love black romance. If you love fluffy reads with plenty of spice, you need to read this! A fender bender turns leads to a one night stand for Logan and Pierre, but one night isn’t enough when the man that turned you out is now your boss. I loved watching the chemistry between these two grow from collaborators, to friends, to lovers. The way these two communicate and show up for one another was beautiful to see. Such a fun read and a great introduction to CCJ’s writing!

Logan and Pierre hook up randomly one night after Logan wrecks into his car. While starting a tv show series, Pierre unknowingly gains Logan as an assistant. Romantically and professionally, they get to know more about one another. They are open to seeing where things go…

Learning that they both have trauma stemming from pleasing their parents. Logan’s parents wanting her to be a lawyer to carry out the family legacy. Also, they preferred her to marry someone with a title and money. Pierre’s mother is dead but he still tries to please her. His father was “famous” but led him down the wrong path-alcoholism.

Sienna, Pierre’s “friend” from “back in the day.” She’s invited by him to help with the show. Logan finds out who she really is which caused tension. Later, she’s dismissed from the job for causing chaos. Anthony, a co-worker of theirs, is crushing on Logan. Pierre becomes jealous. After expressing how Sienna and Anthony make them feel; they realize their feelings are deeper. Yet, still not officially together.

A series of events causes them to want to make things work. Will love be enough to keep them together? Or…will things come crashing down? I definitely recommend this book and can’t wait to read more of her work.

A Perfectly Imperfect Man Loving A Wonderful Woman

This gets a ‘highly recommend’ from me. I love Pierre so much, I love that the author wrote him imperfect but he was not completely dependent on those around him, he was an active participant in his recovery/healing—love to see it. I enjoyed how much of a boss babe Logan was, she was so professional no matter what and I loved to see her stand up for herself without dropping her crown. The chemistry was COMING off the pages honey! I was over here cheesing like he was talking to me lmao! Also love how supportive Pierre’s family was and how much they supported Logan and Pierre. She held her secret a bit long but its cool, it’s dramatic and we need that. Pierre was sexy as hell, that is all.

Other notes:

Pierre and those grills 🥵
Sienna can STILL catch these hands—til’ this day
I would watch the TV series.
Logan’s parents were a bit raggedy.
