These queer Iranian divinely devotional poems are a sacred blessing to us all! Khajavi harmonies humor, wordplay/perversion, romanticism, and potent tenderness in an incredibly crafty and cunning way. Their subversive songs have deep roots, lineages, and histories brought to life with playful political posturings. There is so much layering happening in an immersively sensual way that pushes pleasure to its farthest self, nearly to the point of overstimulation (edging us with gluttony!) So so marvelous and delightful to read, particularly as a brown queer (post/adjacent) spiritual person. Love love love love
