Kit Brennan is in the middle of the Brennan family, a fraternal twin who stayed close to home and always played the good girl card. This Brennan sister book focuses on her as she has broken up with her long term love, Richard and is turning 40 as a single woman and how she wants her life to change after this monumental birthday.

2.5 stars, I felt like the characters were a bit too stereotypical.

I really liked this one, with the exception of the ending when it came to Jude and Kit. That seemed a little rushed.

4.5 stars. In The Good Daughter, the second installment of the Brennan Sisters trilogy, Jane Porter brings her readers another novel that is as heartwarming as it is poignant. It a journey of self-discovery for middle sister Kit as she struggles with an impending loss, unsettling memories from her past and what she wants for her future. I really enjoyed this book. It was a long story but full of heart aches. From kit's mom, dee and her mom, kit and Jude's love life, etc.. It was a good story after all. I don't like Howie. He's rude and violent. I feel bad for dee and I feel bad that her mom left her alone. I wish book#3 will be different. I love kit and her personality. I love Jude and he is an amazing person. He saved dee... and loved that Jude change his mind because he loved kit. I wish book#3 has a little bit story of Jude and Kit. :) I can't wait to read book #3... I can't wait for summer break so I can read more books :) yay!

I won this through Goodreads first reads and as for the basic story I enjoyed it. But I just really couldn't get into the main character. She was so unlikeable for me and it seemed like everything that happened was her own fault. I realize that is often the case but still it just kind of turned me off. The actual story itself was good though. I have not read the first book so that may change my opinion as well but I thought it was pretty good.
