Crowley es el mejor personaje de ficción jamás creado
I love all of the little side stories in this book! I love how Gaiman builds a bunch of characters separately and weaves them all together. It was also funny!

It was a good book, just super hard to keep up with even after re reading the pages.

Ho amato l'inizio, l'ho trovato un pelino noioso nella parte centrale ma il finale si è riscattato. Insomma come faccio a dare un voto a questo libro? come prima cosa posso dire che non ho mai letto un libro a quattro mani scritto così bene. Se non avessi letto in copertina Terry Pratchett E Neil Gaiman avrei giurato che era un libro scritto da una persona sola tanto non si nota assolutamente il cambio di scrittura. Insomma Pratchett e Gaiman erano fatti per scrivere assieme, e questo libro ne é la prova.
Si, ma la storia?
Nel 1655 la profetessa Agnes Nutter disse che il mondo finirà di sabato, non un sabato qualunque oltrettutto ma sabato prossimo (è destino che io stia scrivendo questa recensione proprio di sabato, vero?). L'Anticristo è pronto con il suo cane infernale, piovono pesci e sangue dal cielo, Atlantide è riemersa dalle acque ed i Cavalieri dell'Apocalisse sono già in marcia. Non fosse che un angelo ed un demone non ci pensano proprio a fare finire il Mondo, così Crowley e Azraphel (l'accoppiata migliore del libro, non ci sono dubbi) decidono che saranno loro ad uccidere l'Anticristo così da fermare l'Apocalisse una volta per tutte e far terminare la battaglia in un pareggio. La storia potrebbe quasi sembrare seria a questo punto, se non fosse che l'ironia di Pratchett e Gaiman mi ha fatto scoppiare a ridere da sola mentre leggevo questo libro facendomi guadagnare occhiate perplesse da chiunque mi stava attorno in quel momento (ed ho già convertito un paio di persone a questo libro, dato che mi hanno garantito che lo leggeranno presto con "ma è davvero così divertente?" si, lo è).
Libro assolutamente consigliato se volete leggere un bel libro, ben scritto e che vi faccia anche sorridere, o meglio decisamente ridere. Se non avete senso dell'umorsimo ovviamente state alla larga.

Good Omens is a fantastic book in multiple subtle ways. The start felt somehow hasty – or something, it's hard to describe.
There was something about the pace of the story that I found difficult to settle to at first, but then story sucked me in and I wasn't thinking anymore, I was just reading and enjoying it.
The topic of the book is interesting and addressed in an original way. There is brilliant, on-point commentary about the world, humans and religion – things like "terrorists who fight on Heaven's side are called freedom fighters". Absolutely priceless stuff. Gaiman's darkness and Pratchett's humour are an excellent combination, though the mix is something more than the sum of its parts. The book is full of tiny jokes like a place in Japan called Nigirizushi. Not many books make me laugh out loud, but this one did.
The characters are interesting and funny from the beginning. I especially liked the Angel of Death, Crowley and Aziraphale very much, but all the characters are good.
As a bonus, the edition I read also came with an attached bookmark. This should be a default in all books!!
