Once again Claudia Gray does not disappoint!! She builds some of the best characters I have ever had the privilege of meeting. So excited to start another trilogy by this author!! Loved this so much l purchased the second and third book before I got even halfway through!! Can’t wait to follow these characters to the next journey.

This was a DNF for me. My daughter asked me to read it because she said at about 30% in it got weird. And so I read it, got to where she was and agreed with her that it was getting weird.

I don't normally like Sci-Fi (I'm all for space fantasy, but standard Sci-Fi just... isn't for me) but a friend gave this book to me as a present, and it's been sitting on my shelf unread for a while. I considered giving it away without ever reading it, but since I wasn't in contact with that friend anymore I decided to give it a try, at the very least.
And I'm so incredibly glad that I did!
I still don't think Sci-Fi as a whole is for me, but I enjoyed this book so much! I finished it in a single day, I was just so drawn in. I loved so many aspects of it (the worldbuilding, the characters, the romance which has only just started, et cetera). I will most definitely be reading the other two books, and I can only hope that they don't let me down!

I didn't give this one stars because I'm just not sure I liked it. Good characters but sci-fi is just not really my thing.

Science fiction isn't usually my go to genre of choice, but the humanity in the characters made this book hard to put down. Can't wait for the sequel to find out where the characters go next!

THIS BOOK IS A MIX OF STAR WARS AND IROBOT. It is seriously so cool and I was surprised that I liked it as much as I did. It seems that I am getting more into space-y, sci-fi books and this was no exception!

I really liked this book and the main characters worked so well together. I mean, a human and a robot, on a quest together in space!! I ended up enjoying the banter between the two and their relationship grew throughout the book which is completely apparent by the end. That character development both individually and together was my favorite part.

Only through sacrifice can Genesis survive.

This might be the best book I've read in a really long time. I went into it having forgotten entirely what it was about (as is customary for me. I at least knew it was about space.) From the very second chapter, I was hooked. What followed was a race to read all 501 pages as quickly as I could to know what was going to happen. And though I was able to guess a significant piece of the end, I was still baffled with how it all came out.

Don't be dissuaded because this is a romance. It actually isn't really what I'd call a romance - there's a subplot of it, but the whole story is definitely a lot bigger than just your average YA swoon. Noemi is a fierce character who pushes constantly through her fear to reach a better world for the people around her. She is gentle and flawed and kind. Determined. The kind of girl you want your daughters to read about and aspire to be like. Abel is like an INTJ confronting feelings for the first time. He is methodical, intelligent, and thoughtful. Together they make a duo worth keeping your eye on - and even better. They are unforgettable. As are the other characters filtering in and out of the story. For the first time in a long time, I closed a book with that heavy feeling of affection and loss at the end that tells me I just made a new friend.

This book contains heavy influences of spirituality (especially Catholicism) which pleased me, since YA seems to dance around religion like it's an ugly sweater. The theology is a little screwy, but it's there. Teens should have no problem as long as it's talked over with a knowledgeable adult. There's also a minute, passing mention of a bisexual character, unfortunately, but it's so brief and almost missable that I'm not deducting points for it.

This book is amazing. Just read it.
