I found this book slow and boring.  I think that if you have spent time living in New York, in any of the boroughs, it would be a better book.  But as someone with just a passing knowledge of NY, the stories just didn't do much for me.

a charming collection of essays about, you guessed it - New York! My favorites in this collection were "Canal Street" and "Someplace in Queens".

Wonderful! I loved the author's particular focus on specific neighborhoods within the city. A perfect way to dream of New York when you're unable to be there.
